About the program
In 2025, WHCF launched a hands-on program for GHS students to volunteer a few hours a week during the year earn SEC credit. Students received hands on experience while supporting our Farm team growing produce using organic principles for our Farm stand and weekly Food Pantry donations.
This year, thanks to The Hartford Foundation for Giving’s Alvord Grant we will be awarding stipends to selected students from the GHS Ag Program who reside in Glastonbury and Manchester.
The Full Story
At WHCF we pass on knowledge to future generations of Farmers. By allowing students to get hands on experience and learn about the future of Agribusiness. Students learn more about the science of farming. Through this experience, the students learn the principles of organic farming (no till farming, use of natural pesticides, natural fertilizers and crop rotation practices) as well as about our eco-friendly solar powered water system and drip irrigation system.
